The International Department at the Israel Women’s Network (IWN) is dedicated to advancing feminist values through a variety of global projects. Our primary mission is to build a network of feminist and human rights organizations worldwide. By collaborating with these partners, we seek to share knowledge, coordinate efforts, and address key issues such as Women in positions of power, employment segregation, gender discrimination, equal opportunity, and domestic and sexual violence.
As the feminist movement worldwide is combating the backlash – the rise of conservatism and the anti-feminist movement, which threaten to undermine progress on gender equality and women’s rights in Israel and around the world. We are committed to developing strategic responses and innovative solutions to these challenges through our international partnerships.
In addition, the IWN is a non-governmental organization in special consultative status with the U.N. Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the International Department engages directly with the United Nations, and its agencies, such as UN Women and CEDAW, to advocate for the enforcement of international gender equality standards and to hold the Israeli government accountable for implementing these norms and resisting anti-feminist pressures.
