The Legal Forum of the Israel Women's Network has called on Prime Minister Netanyahu, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Halevi, and Chief Military Prosecutor Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi to continue investigating the allegations of sexual violence at Tze'elim Base.
Chairwoman Attorney Bruria Lakner remarked, “It is inconceivable that while we seek justice for Israeli victims of Hamas, alleged sexual violence against detainees in Israeli facilities is occurring. A thorough and independent investigation of these allegations will not undermine our soldiers but rather protect the State of Israel and its military, especially on the international stage.”
The Legal Forum warns that the smear campaign against the Chief Military Prosecutor and public opposition to investigating allegations with preliminary evidence of severe sexual violence effectively grant immunity to offenders and condone these acts.
